Goodbye, 2012

Just a little photo-update since the last post :3

Lazy day at Haji Lane with Jieying and we had Tiramisu Hero

2NE1 New Evo concert with Wen, Ju, Jx. I love the transitions between songs and the design of everything. Energy was off the roof, AMAZING!

Boxing day: Les Misérables & Shokudo!

So 2012 is coming to an end. I'd say it's been a relatively good year for me. There's still one term of poly days left which means, one step closer to graduation! My heart skips a beat at the thought of completing this course, and the carefree days after that :)

2013, I AM READY.

Wen's 20th

Picnic under the hot, merciless sun. I've heard it was extra hot yesterday too... gosh. Had a good time nevertheless. We tried to fly the kite Jx made. Oh yes try we did but succeed we did not.
Birthday girl enjoying the breeze~

Had a go at levitation shots. Fun!!!

♥

Caught Perks of Being a Wallflower too. It was lovely, but not quite up to my expectations. I guess I kind of anticipated more from the main cast. Book triumphs movie, as usual.

In other news, 2 weeks of school has passed! Also, we're done with FYP presentation. Even though we didn't do as well as I'd hope but I think we made do with what we had the last few months. And now that it's a over, huuuge burden off my shoulders. phew :)

Baker & Cook

Met up with Angella on the first day of school!

This place was ok. Service was bad, the girl who served us keyed both our orders wrong. I also don't like the fact that customers who opt for al fresco have to use disposable cutleries. How environment unfriendly...

Luckily enough the food was good. I had the salmon quiche and carrot cake and wiped them both clean! Yummo. Angella didn't quite enjoy her eggs benny that much though.

Love a good moist carrot cake. Not overly sweet and they were generous with their ingredients!

Last Semester.

So it's the last night of the 6 weeks long semester break. Everyone's dreading first day of school, yet at the same time we all can't wait for this six coming months to end. Then it's graduation! Finally an end to poly life.

Didn't do much since the last update. Been kept busy with work at health screening as well as FYP.

Went for Big Bang's concert, Pangdemonium's Swimming With Sharks, and Brian Joo's lil concert to put an end to this holiday.
All three were amazing in their own way! From Big Bang's stage presence, to Pangdemonium's interesting take on the play. Not to mention Brian who I have been supporting for 7 years. He definitely did not fall short on my expectations. The most down-to-earth artiste ever. Still in disbelief that I got to actually meet him :)

Yeah. Still dreading going to school in the morning. Till the next update~

Chinatown / Selfish Gene Cáfe

Took a walk at Chinatown just because I wanted to see the Mid Autumn decorations. I haven't seen our Chinatown this pretty in a while!

Ended the day at Selfish Gene Cáfe to try their new Matcha Latte. It is definitely one of the better cáfes I've been to. Quiet and spacious. I also like the choice of reading materials they provide for us to browse. I need to come back to try their food instead of just coffee :)

"Gene has always been rather selfish when it comes to food. It is not that he will never share his food, but rather he will not serve anyone food that he would not eat himself."

Henry Congressional

"henry congressional / ‘henri kan’gresh(a)nl / adjective 1 of or pertaining to the meeting of common folks for the appreciation of fine coffee, tea and craft beer"

I like this place. Tucked in the quiet neighborhood of Henry Park, it is small and minimalistic. The owners are a bunch of friendly people too.
We went there on a Sunday noon and it wasn't packed at all, just how I like it. The patrons were probably residents from the viccinity.

I had latte and the rosemary chicken & watercress sandwich, which I both enjoyed. The chicken is tender and the pairing of chicken and watercress is quite refreshing.

Would love to visit this place more before it closes :)

Egg is leaving for the UK in a few days. Take care my slightly awkward gig partner :(

What do you want to do before you die?

“Preparing for death is one of the most empowering things you can do. Thinking about death clarifies your life.” - Candy Chang

And yes, I do think of death quite a lot.
How would I die? Where? Who with?
What would I have accomplished?
How would people react to my death?

Woody Allen

Love these two movie opening scenes. Probably made more dramatic, but still very beautifully done. I want to visit these places. As well as Café des 2 Moulins, one of the filming locations for Amélie. Hopefully one day...

Goodbye August

Celebrated JX & JY's birthdays! We gave them a little surprise (yes, we do love to give each other heart attacks like this), went to the zoo, and then a simple dinner at a hawker centre. Video diary below :)

In other news, went to check out Carpenter & Cook with Dewi, after reading about all the hype.

I like it there. Quaint, but also felt a little like a vintage museum. Would love it if not for the crowd. I really enjoyed their famous Passionfruit Meringue Tart. The tart base is sturdy, it doesn't crumble when you cut through it. I wished there was more passionfruit curd though. Will go back there very soon to try out other desserts!

Tea time for two, minus my tea and D's raisin scone

I also ate lots of pho bo this week. Yummm. There can never be too much pho, I'm serious.

 Pho Hoa (Holland Village)

SAM + Night Festival 2012

Took a little walk at the Singapore Art Museum on Wednesday. Free admission for this month!

"The grass is always greener on the inside."

Then Friday, to Night Festival 2012. Started off at SOTA, to SAM, 8Q and then National Museum. Love looking at the pretty light displays (Night Lights) and interesting exhibitions up. There are also performances around the area. They are still open next weekend so be sure not to miss out cuz there are lots to see and experience :)

So long holidays are here. Unfortunately though partner and I will be spending most of our days in the lab doing our final year project, starting tomorrow morning. I just hope we'll have enough samples and finish up as soon as possible. Then I can breathe easy and enjoy the remaining of the holidays, if there will be any, that is.

Been spending most of the weekend watching movies. Lots and lots of them. About ten or so now.
3 Idiots, Becoming Jane, Forrest Gump, One Day, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, The King's Speech... just to name a few.

And because I was bored, I did this to my room wall.
